A Word for 2025
"Re-boot"
Almost every prophetic word I’ve heard or read begins with the prefix "Re-":
- Reset
- Restore
- Revealing
- Resurgence
- Revive
- Reignited
- Rebrand
"Re-" means to turn back or return—to be back again.
In the past 2–3 years, many of us felt called and certain about what was next. We repositioned ourselves, set our sails for a new voyage, and we KNEW that God was with us.
So what happened?
Shipwreck.
For me, 2022 was the beginning of this voyage. Right at the start of this season, God spoke to me in a dream: "Acts 27." Here’s a synopsis of that chapter:
Acts 27 recounts the perilous sea voyage of Paul, Luke, and Aristarchus from Caesarea Maritima to Rome under the custody of Julius, a Roman centurion.
The journey begins with their departure from Caesarea Maritima aboard a ship. Soon after, their voyage turns treacherous as they encounter a ferocious storm near Myra. The relentless winds drive the ship off course for two weeks, leaving the passengers and crew in constant peril.
Eventually, the ship crashes on the island of Malta. The vessel and its cargo are destroyed, but miraculously, everyone survives the shipwreck. Whether swimming to shore or clinging to debris, all aboard safely reach land, fulfilling the divine promise Paul received during the storm.
At the time, I had no idea how this scripture applied to my life—or anyone else’s for that matter. But now I know: the end of 2024 symbolizes our arrival to shore.
This word is not for everyone, but it is for many. I’ve seen this scripture play out not only in my own life but also in the lives of the majority of believers I know personally. People who moved homes, churches, or jobs in 2021/2022 have now left those places they were so sure were their destiny. Many have either returned to their initial departure point or landed in a completely different place altogether.
“Before very long, a wind of hurricane force, called the Northeaster, swept down from the island. The ship was caught by the storm and could not head into the wind; so we gave way to it and were driven along. As we passed to the lee of a small island called Cauda, we were hardly able to make the lifeboat secure, so the men hoisted it aboard. Then they passed ropes under the ship itself to hold it together. Because they were afraid they would run aground on the sandbars of Syrtis, they lowered the sea anchor and let the ship be driven along. We took such a violent battering from the storm that the next day they began to throw the cargo overboard. On the third day, they threw the ship’s tackle overboard with their own hands. When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.”
— Acts 27:14–20
A lot of us are tired—mentally, physically, and spiritually exhausted. The winds of these past few years have been relentless. But where there is faith, there is hope.
This chapter of our stories was not a loss:
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
— Romans 5:3–5
What God cultivated in us during this trial run is exactly what we need to carry into 2025. We are standing on the sands of a new adventure. It will be different from the last, but there will be many moments of divine situational similarities—with vastly different outcomes this time around.
Whether you swam to the shore or clung to debris for dear life, you made it.
“But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed.”
— Acts 27:22
Let 2025 be known as the year that you approached with humility, walked through with wisdom, and completed with excellence.
